- One *could* say that if one accepted as given that most auto
- trips are of the order of 6 miles. But since that is incorrect,
- the statement would be incorrect. The average miles driven per
- auto per year in the US is roughly 12,000. That leads to an average
- daily travel of about 33 miles. As an example, I drive about 60 miles
- a day in two 30 mile trips. I'm above the national average and
- there are those below the average, but 6 miles is *way* below
- the average.
