  22. =o= I don't think that anyone, Greenpeace included, is going
  23. to argue that these press releases are any substitute for
  24. scientific research.  Having been both a press agent and an
  25. editor, I've been on both ends of many press releases.  They
  26. are odd beasts, hastily written in odd prose designed to be
  27. all things to all people.  I know of no organization whose
  28. press releases don't suffer from these problems.

  30. =o= Greenpeace (the organization) does a good deal of research
  31. and does indeed subject it to peer review.  If you have problems
  32. with this research, do speak u, but don't resort to the _ad_
  33. _hominem_ approach of rejecting it automatically because you
  34. don't like the way another part of the organization writes its
  35. press releases.

  42. tions are.  Imperfect as the Greenpeace press releases are, they
