- Hello,
-
- I just wanted to post this question to see if anybody with
- experience with Zenith TV's might have any hints. I did buy
- the SAMS sheet for the set and I will do an in depth troubleshoot
- in a couple of weeks. I am a student living in the dorm at
- Florida State.
-
- Zenith Model A1936P - System 3
- I got this set which started taking time to warm up. Now it doesn't
- work at all. It makes a loud buzzing noise and creates sparks from
- the ground "feelers" that touch the top right corner of the tube. Those
- feelers connect via a wire to the PC board socketed to the back of the
- tube. This wire/trace appears to be connected to the chassis, however
- this set DOESN'T have a chassis connection on the plug. Could this
- be the shutdown circuit being active? I don't leave the set on for
- long and it leaves an ozone kind of smell. My only guess is that it
- is the high voltage/sweep module.
-
- As always, any help is greatly appreciated.
