  13. I have a circuit that that consists of a 12 volt battery
  14. charger (500ma) and an electro magnet. All I want to do
  15. is have the circuit power on for about 1 second and then
  16. shut off for about 1 second and continue in this manner
  17. for hours at a time. It doesn't matter to me if the cycling
  18. is accomplished by interupting power to the charger or by
  19. interupting power from the charger, as long as I can get
  20. my electro magnet to cycle on, off - on, off - on, off, etc..
  21. I first thought I could use an automobile turn signal flasher
  22. but found out that current always flows through the flasher
  23. so the magnet never shuts all the way down. I need the power to
  24. drop completely out between pulses. I have found some things in
  25. electronics catalogs that would work (recycle timers) but the 
  26. cheapest one is about $25.00! Shouldn't I be able to make something
  27. for about $5.00? Of course, adjustable times and a LED that shows
  28. when power is on the magnet would be nice, but I really just need
  29. the thing to turn on and off ad infinitum.
