  20.    This is not a very trivial thing to do, this is proabably one of the reasons
  21. that home amps are easier to fix than auto amps. You will need some kind of
  22. circuit to alternate or switch the 12v and use a power transformer to boost it
  23. up. Also when yoiu boost voltage, the current consequently drops, so you need
  24. to have a circuit which is quite beefed up to provide a high current. Thats a
  25. major selling point of many manufacturers now, they claim their amps not only
  26. provide the high voltage but the high current power source. I have considered 
  27. doing his many times myself since I had many different designs for simple to
  28. complicated amps. I don't think itt is possible from scratch unless you use the
  29. exact components and circuit you would find in a presently available amp. From
  30. my experience I think the highest power you can get from 12V without raising the
  31. voltage is abou 33Wrms, which was a Clarion Eq/Amp.
