  11. I'd attach a magnet and reed switch or a variable reluctance sensor
  12. to the wheels.  If your car has antilock brakes, you might be able
  13. to mount a second variable reluctance sensor to pick up movement of
  14. the toothed ring.  Don't try to piggyback off the original ABS
  15. system, as you're playing with safety related components there.  If
  16. you don't have ABS, you might be able to grab the toothed rings
  17. and/or sensors at the local bone yard.  It'd be a fun electronics
  18. project.
