- I'd attach a magnet and reed switch or a variable reluctance sensor
- to the wheels. If your car has antilock brakes, you might be able
- to mount a second variable reluctance sensor to pick up movement of
- the toothed ring. Don't try to piggyback off the original ABS
- system, as you're playing with safety related components there. If
- you don't have ABS, you might be able to grab the toothed rings
- and/or sensors at the local bone yard. It'd be a fun electronics
- project.
