- According to Newell and Simon (1972), problem solving is a process
- of searching through the problem space. It seems to involve the linear
- search within the working memory and the association with the LTM. Prietula
- and Simon (1989, p. 122) seem to suggest that after a first approximation of
- solution is found in LTM through association, then the solution is refined
- through linear search again, "combing" through possible solutions.
- Would somebody comment on my interpretation, please? I am just
- not certain if it is correct. Thanks.
