- There was a comet in 1506. It was discovered by the Chinese on July 31st and
- described as a "large sphere" without a tail. Several days later it passed above
- Ursa Major and at maximum the tail was estimated to be nearly 15 degrees. It
- was last observed on August 14th. The perhelion date has been estimated as
- September 4th.
