  10. I have just read news on an Italian newspaper regarding a meteor that 2 days 
  11. ago, Jan 19, passed over northern Italy. It was around 2 a.m. and people 
  12. heard a loud boom while the sky was being illuminated as during daylight.
  13. This phenomenon lasted about 10/20 seconds. Also shock waves were reported.
  14. Newspapers speculated that it was a meteor and that it went straight on 
  15. Croatia.

  17. Can anybody give me some more details? Is it possible that such a meteor is
  18. not tracked by astronomers well in advance and no warnings are issued?
