- Meteorites hitting people and cars has happened before.
- About 25 to 30 years ago, a meteorite hit a house and struck
- the lady living there, and she survived with only a bruise. I think this
- happened somewhere in England, and the story and pictures are
- on display at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. One of the
- SNC meteorite was supposed to have landed on and killed a dog.
- The meteorite that landed last October in Peeksville, New York, was
- the third or fourth occurrence of a meteorite hitting a car. The
- meteorite went through the trunk. I just happen to have a piece of
- this particular meteorite in my collection, and there is red paint
- from the car still on the fusion crust. The car and the Peeksville
- meteorite will be on display at the Tuscon show next month.

- I recall the story of the woman struck by the meteorite. The local
- newspapers ran a photo. It was a nasty bruise. Good thing the meteor
- didn't get a straight shot at her... My recollection puts the site
- in Tennessee, but it's a long time ago. Was that a Serbian meteorite
- in Croatia?
