- We "sacrificed" a 1 gal "igloo" thermos, made of plastic and
- foam insulation. Topped it off with LOX, set it a couple hundred
- feet away from anything, and remotely dropped a burning paper wad
- in the top. It didn't blow up. When the plastic caught, it burned
- pretty slow, like a flare, but very bright.. It lasted 3 or 4 mins
- in all. Much more fun to toss a lit cigarette into a large styrofoam
- cup of LOX.. it makes a nice 2' diameter fireball for about 5 sec.
- Hard plastics don't "absorb" the LOX like briquetts or a roll of TP
- would.
