- Well, let me say this. I have a reliable book of Chemistry
- demonstrations that describes how to make "Peroxyacetone". The book
- states that you should not ignite the Peroxyacetone from less than 1 meter
- (using a match taped to a meterstick), because of the large fireball.
-
- A couple of months after I bought the book, I received a form letter
- from the publisher, urging that I tear out those pages from the book and
- discard them. Apparently, several serious accidents had occurred when
- instructors were trying this demonstration. Hopefully, your luck won't
- run out.
