- I've seen a lot of David Carradine bashing in the group lately. I haven't seen
- the Kung Fu TV show in a long long time, but I don't exactly remember seeing a
- lot of stuff that made me want to run to the bathroom and blow chunks or
- anything. I tend not to judge other arts too harshly anyway because I'm not
- studying them.
- I do seem to recall that the MA looked better in the later episodes (in
- line with the common wisdom that he was learning as he went along), but my
- question to all you holier-than-thou's is: what exactly did you find to be so
- bad [of the techniques which were filmed from beginning to end and at full
- speed :-) ] ? No one has gotten specific, which I find to be suspicious.
- I'm not saying I wouldn't agree with you all if I saw a rerun today, I
- just want some details. One question I have is: is it a question of form or
- of choreography of the scenes or of the MA shown not being true to Shaolin Kung
- Fu or just not streetworthy? I think it's important that if he is going to
- represent a style he ought to do it well, but then there's the point that the
- best style is beyond style (all you Bruce Lee fans should be nodding), and what
- is important when you are saving your life and limb is that you save it/them,
- period, and then the life and limb of your attacker if you can.

- P.S. I agree that the stuff people mentioned about the appendix/glossary of
- his book is pretty abysmal... aikido = form of TKD, etc. Whoa.
