  25. If I'd expect a defense situation over a distance  of  30+  yards
  26. (the  original article mentioned even 50+ yards), I would hate to
  27. be confined to a shotgun.   Maybe  a  long-barrelled  one,  at  a
  28. pinch.   I'd  definitely  prefer  a  medium-to-big  caliber rifle
  29. (preferably semi-auto).  A 30/30 or an  8mm,  but  not  a  magnum
  30. caliber.

  32. To me, as a defense tool, a shotgun is  mainly  a  near-to-medium
  33. range  weapon.   I have no experience with shotguns for distances
  34. over 25 meters, but I expect the accuracy to be less than useful.
