- I thought the story was that they had been given a non-firing
- prototype, and that they had been given it for looks, with
- the understanding that it was not to be used in any kind of
- tests. Someone in the CHP wanted the S&W to come out looking
- good, so he had a "shootout" of the S&W vs the non-firing Glock
- prototype. The S&W won.
