  12. Besides the new MGM Grand, the Luxor (pyramid) and Treasure Island,
  13. there's also something weird going up near Vegas World.. looks
  14. like 2 or 3 very tall tower type things leaning into each other.
  15. No idea what it is but cranes were working on it when I was in
  16. town during CES. There's also another one called The Caribbean
  17. going up on one of those streets that runs perpendicular to
  18. the Strip and Paradise Road (Paradise is the street where the
  19. Hilton and the Convention Center live).. there's a pirate ship
  20. there too with torn sails on it, and the Caribbean sign says
  21. "Hotel -  [blank]" like the word "casino" was there but they've
  22. covered it up.  I was in Vegas last November too for COMDEX and
  23. this Caribbean construction looked in January the same beginning
  24. state it was in November.. so like uh maybe whoever is behind the
  25. thing can't get a casino license and halted construction or
  26. something.

  28. Anyone else ever notice that what is now the San Remo (next door to
  29. the Trop), used to be the Polynesian and before that was The Treasury?
  30. And each change of name also brought a complete remodelling too.

  32. Vegas is a wacky place, esp. if one's trips there are less than
  33. say once a year. Entire sections of town can change radically
  34. between visits.. stuff you saw last year not only isn't there any
  35. more but has been torn down and replaced with something entirely
  36. different.
