- BZZT! The Audi 5000 introduced the specific shape later copied by the
- Taurus! The Citroen DS19 introduced aerodynamics to modern sedans in 1955!
- The DS was developed in a wind tunnel owned by Citroen (the first company to use one -
- they had done this with the Traction Avant in 1932-4 as well).
-
- The drag coeficient of the DS was 0.32 some 30 years before the 5000/Taurus hit the
- streets! The taurus brought the shape to the masses here in N. America only, but the
- DS was sold all over the world for almost 20 years when it was replaced by the
- even more slippery CX in 1974.
-
- (the DS is so futuristic looking that it was used in the 'Back to the future'
- film as a taxi and as a regular car of the future).
