- Greetings!
-
- Here's a question I'm going to be dealing with soon. I have a BMW
- 323i, purchased in Germany. When we imported it to the US (to
- Texas), it went to a shop where it was fitted with a catalyitic
- converter, and had various other US-ifying stuff done to it to make
- it legal.
-
- Now, I'm planning to move to the west coast (i.e. California)
- sometime in the next year, and the car is going along. The question
- is this: how much nastier are CA's emissions requirements, and is a
- car that passed in TX likely to pass inspection in CA? What's the
- law concerning cars purchased out of state anyway? If it doesn't
- pass, how much is it going to cost me to have the catalyitic
- converter replaced or upgraded?
-
- Thanks!
