  13. What is the safest vehicle configuration I can buy, in
  14. terms of model and options, considering that it will be
  15. driven in dry, wet, and snow on-road conditions?

  17. My naive guess would be the long Volvo station wagon,
  18. assuming I could get it with anti-lock brakes, four-wheel
  19. drive, and no air bag.  But is that really so?

  21. [I've heard claims that the Citroen wagon is actually
  22. the safest, but most of its better features are outlawed
  23. in the US thanks to GM, and it would be hard to find 
  24. anyone who could fix it if I broke down in Podunk Falls.]
