- I have had great results with a product called
- 3M tar and wax remover (or something to that affect)
-
- I get it at your local automotive paint supply store,
- is rather spendy, 10.00 a quart or so, but it will remove
- almost anything from a paints surface, and LEAVE THE PAINT!
-
- I have used it to remove pine tree sap, no problem!
- CTo remove unwanted undercoating overspray.
- To remove grease and wax residues before painting, (what it was
- designed for). To remove a strip of paint that was a result
- of a near collision. I suspect that this was due to the car
- was well waxed, and the paint smudge was on top of the wax,
- and I removed the wax, therefore the smudge. But it is
- great stuff. I even used it to clean the brushes on my model
- train as well as teh motor.
-
- It comes in a quart sized tin, rectangular in shape, with a
- red and white painted on label, covered with warning label!
- The cost is offset by the fact the it just takes a dab on a
- soft cloth to do most stubborn jobs.
