  22. There was a recent commercial for Toyota exholing how much of
  23. their vehicle and development are done in this country, and
  24. they showed one of their California design studios.. in passing
  25. there is a very quick glimpse of a low slung sport type clay
  26. mockup.. perhaps the new Supra?

  28. My gut feeling is (and I've owned 3 Supras).. they aren't too
  29. worried about this market.. the Lexus SC400 and SC300 fit into
  30. the price range the new supe would have to fit, and they probably
  31. don't want to compete with themselves.. if you look at the SC series,
  32. I think you'll see where the '92 Supra went..

  34. I suspect part of the reason we never saw a new Supra is that the
  35. car as designed (figure the SC Lexus now) - didn't really give the
  36. performance that other manufacturer's were offering (300Z, Mitsu
  37. 3000GT).. and they steered it more towards luxury GT which fit
  38. better in the Lexus line.

  40. It's also interesting that they have discontinued the Cressida line
  41. completely.. apparently it was (1)competing with the Lexus...
  42. (2)since it used the Supra driveline, not economical to produce without
  43. the Supra.
