  12.   I've read a few posts lately (including my own :-) requesting
  13. info on the new Yamaha A/V Receivers and Integrated Amplifiers.
  14. I managed to get some sketchy details, so I thought I'd share
  15. them.  Please note that this info is being transcribed from 
  16. memory so there may be errors.

  18.   RX-V570 : New entry-level model with 50 watts/channel across
  19.             the front three channels.
  20.             Same decoder and DSP chips as existing receivers.
  21.  
  22.   RX-V670 : Replaces RX-V660
  23.             Amp power increased to 75 watts/channel across front
  24.             three channels.
  25.             Same decoder and DSP chips as existing receivers.
  26.  
  27.   RX-V870 : Replaces RX-V850
  28.             Same amp power as 850.
  29.             Uses the A1000 DSP chip.  The info was vague on whether
  30.             this includes all 23 DSP modes of the A1000 or merely a
  31.             subset.  It does include the 70 mm Adventure mode (this
  32.             was explicitly stated).
  33.             On-screen programming/parameter setting (as in A1000).
  34.             S-Video in/out connections.
  35.  
  36.  RX-V1070 : Replaces RX-V1050
  37.             Same amp power as 1050.
  38.             Uses the A1000 DSP chip (see comments above).
  39.             On-screen programming.
  40.  
  41. DSP-A1000 : Not discontinued.  Remains as is.
  42.  
  43. DSP-A2070 : New top-of-the-line unit.
  44.             Seven channel amp (same power as A1000??).
  45.             Boasts "three times as much DSP power as the A1000"
  46.             using a new DSP chip.
  47.             They claim better DSP programs with increased channel
  48.             separation etc, etc.
  49.             I hope it's all they say it is considering the hefty 
  50.             $2000 US price tag.

  52.   If anyone knows more about these units, please email, especially
  53. if any of my info is incorrect.  The local dealer predicts availability
  54. of the new units in late February or early March.  Will they be
  55. available sooner in the US?
