- I've received several direct responses to my posting about the
- sound quality of carousels vs single-play. The consensus is that
- it's a marketing and cost/feature issue: the target audience
- is more interested in features than absolute sound quality, and
- these features cost money that otherwise could've been spent on
- higher quality electronics.

- This makes sense to me, and confirms my feeling that there
- isn't an inherent reason why carousel units couldn't be made
- to sound as good as single-play units.

- However, I'm still interested in knowing if there are technical
- limitations to the carousel platter approach that degrade the
- sound compared to a single-play drawer. Are there?
