  22.    I think that PASC and ATRAC is only the first step towards DAB
  23. (Digital Audio Broadcast). Somewhere I read that to enable DAB to a
  24. moving target like a car you must increase the 'lossyness' compression
  25. from 1/4 (DCC) or 1/5 (MD) ratio to something like 1/9 or 1/10.  Last
  26. year experiment was done i Sweden to transmit DAB over the ordinary FM
  27. band. Invited journalists and other with 'golden' ears has reported a
  28. much better sound quality than the analogue way.  Another benefit is
  29. that each FM tranmitter that broadcast the same radio channel can use
  30. the same FM frequency (without interference) and the power (Watts)
  31. required to broadcast is decreased significantly. => Saves energy.

  34. about DAB and how the future is planned.
