- A half ton Chevy should have no trouble hauling 1000-1500 pounds of feed and
- hay without any beefing up necessary. If you only have two horses, I doubt
- you would ever need to haul more than that at a time. I myself have 18
- horses and ponies and haul about 1000 pounds of grain every two weeks with
- no trouble. In fact, I can haul 400 pounds of grain in the trunk of my
- Ford Festiva!

- Personally, if I weren't doing any horse hauling, I'd prefer a smaller pickup
- like a Ford Ranger or Dodge Dakota. They should be able to handle hauling
- grain and hay occasionnaly, but wouldn't be up to the task of hauling a
- trailer. Pulling a trailer is MUCH harder on the vehicle than hauling in
- the truck bed.
