  13. At our local McDonald's, senior citizens and kids under 8 years old
  14. can get free ice cream cones.  After he ate his ice cream, the 
  15. following conversation ensued:

  17. Dylan:  I want more ice cream, please.
  18. Me:     Sorry, but you know you only get one cone per visit.
  19. Dylan:  We go through door again, get another ice cream!

  23. Two related "kids hear things differently" stories:

  25. Dylan was given a toy with traffic signs in them.  He held up the
  26. sign for "No U-Turn" and asked me what it was.  I told him "That
  27. says, 'no u-turn'."  Dylan thought for a second and then said, "No
  28. you turn, no me turn, no Daddy turn."

  30. Gary was reading a book to Dylan in which an hourglass was pictured.
  31. Dylan pointed to it and asked what it was.  Gary said it was an
  32. hourglass.  Dylan immediately said "Not your glass, not Mommy's
  33. glass, not Bogie's (our cat) glass, not my glass.  Our glass!"
