  13. I have been reading the FAQ for misc.invest and came across a list of discount
  14. brokers and their commissions.  Having an account with Charles Schwab, I was
  15. suprised to find out that they charged the highest commission 95% of the
  16. given examples (verified by my commission schedule from Schwab)!

  18. E-Trade, however, was the lowest 95% of the time ($0.015/share $35 min).  
  19. I called them and they said that their prices are so low because of a 
  20. very automated system they use.  They only have 2 full-time brokers 
  21. employed so sometimes you might not be able to talk to a human- no 
  22. problem for me.  That's why I use discount brokers.

  24. Anyway, have any of you used E-Trade for stock transactions?  Any horror
  25. stories?
