- Hi Walt: you are so right when you say that most people lack
- training. Part of thqat is the fault of today's mainstreaming I
- think, but at the same time, I must admit that residential schools
- didn't do very well in that regard either. As for Commissions for
- the Blind, in most states training was minimal, and you were
- dependent on the "luck of the Draw." If the Counselor was a good
- one, you were in good shape. But God help you if he/she was
- horrible. You were just stuck, and the only way out was to be
- strong enough to abandon the system and go for it alone.
- Unfortunately, not too many blind people have been strong enough to
- do that. Anyway, super to hear from you, and my very best wishes to
