- There was an article in USA Today a couple years ago (I think I saved it
- somewhere) about a guy who took a flight from Seattle to NY. More or
- less on time, but the guy waited for over an hour for his luggage to
- come off the plane. (Nobody's luggage was coming off). He went to the
- airline baggage desk to complain about it and was treated very rudely
- by the airline agent there.
-
- He filed suit against the airline for "breach of contract". The
- "contract" was his ticket, where the airline promised "friendly and
- efficient service to the best of their ability". The service certainly
- wasn't friendly, and after an hour waiting for luggage to come off the
- plane, it clearly wasn't efficient either. He was awarded $12.5K.
