- We have the standard Motorola car phone (model not in my head at this
- time). It's actually mounted in the car. Antenna is glass mounted on the
- car also. Make sure to get the hands free microphone mounted in the
- visor. Hand's free is the only way to go when actually driving. Phone,
- including installation was $319. There will probably be a $40-$50
- provider one-time charge for activation. Normal. Ours was $45. Our phone
- rate is $13.95 per month with .35 prime/.10 non-prime. I have service
- from U.S West and got a group discount rate because my employer is a
- major user also. Your rate might be higher.
-
- Note: Standard car phones are a full 3 watts, the handheld and some of
- the "bag" phones are only .6. Do some research. We sure did.
