  22. Proposal to Create alt.politics.radical-left

  24. We would like to see the creation of alt.politics.radical-left,
  25. an unmoderated newsgroup whose function would be to act as a
  26. forum for news items and theoretical discussions dealing with
  27. leftist politics, national liberation struggles, militant
  28. resistance movements, etc. This newsgroup would, in some ways, be
  29. a more radical-left version of groups such as
  30. misc.activism.progressive, and would have a definite left-wing
  31. political focus, unlike other alt-realm groups like alt.activism.

  33. Again, there are, at present, no newsgroups in the alt-realm
  34. which have, as their aim, the exchange of news items with a
  35. radical-left focus. What's more, such news items are often hard
  36. to come by. Therefore, the creation of alt.politics.radical-left
  37. would fill a definite void and would be of great use to dozens of
  38. progressive groups currently operating in Cyberspace. Also, as an
  39. open group, it would allow other users with Usenet access to
  40. become exposed to left-radical politics.

  42. Discussion on the creation of this newsgroup is now beginning in
  43. alt.config. We strongly encourage users to post messages of
  44. support in alt.config so that alt.politics.radical-left can be
  45. created as soon as possible!
