  13. Due to a shortage of disk space, I was forced into deleting
  14. some of the "baggage" which comes with Openwin3.0 .  I've been
  15. careful in deleting and retesting the OW environment by removing
  16. various *.c, *.h, help files. *.Z, etc files.  I'm down from
  17. 70Megs to 58Megs but I want more!!

  19. I don't want to compile any OW applications on these machines, only
  20. execute the applications so I need some info on these particular
  21. file types:
  22.  
  23. openwin3.0/lib/*.a        these archive files are only need during
  24.                 compile/link or are they used during
  25.                 dynamic linking?
  26.  
  27. openwin3.0/lib/fonts/*        What about all these different font files?
  28.  
  29. openwin3.0/share/etc/NeWS/tnt/*.ps    postscript fragments or what ???
  30.  
  31. openwin3.0/share/src/fonts/*/*.bdf    What's a .bdf file?

  33. Any deletion recommendations?  My SS2 will have the full blown version
  34. of OW3 but the remaining SS1s and SS2s only need the minimal OW3 system.
