- My preference when setting up a system is to use the rootvg
- to contain only IBM-shipped things. This is predicated, of
- course, upon there being enough disk drives to make this practical
- (usually 3 or more).

- The volume group is the unit of backup and recovery. This lets
- the user backup and restore her data without having to do that
- to IBM's, to have AIX available for backup and restore of user
- data, and just to re-install AIX (relatively) easily and cleanly
- when moving to a new software level.

- I still put paging space and other things which don't need backup
- on uservg volumes.
