  12. Subject almost says it all.  Is there an obvious way to collect stats on 
  13. characters input and sent on an individual tty basis?   It appears that 
  14. there are such things kept for the use of iostat.   Or is there a good 
  15. example somewhere of how iostat gets those numbers?
