  10.   My problem is this: I have a Data General DGUX Aviion System 5.4.2.
  11. I am running NIS, and I have /var/mail from my NIS server mounted on top
  12. of my local/var/mail directory. Whenever I send or try to read mail I
  13. get this error:

  15.          UX:mailx: ERROR: Cannot set mandatory lock on '/var/mail/:saved
  16.          /LCK..826': Permission denied
  17.  
  18.          UX:mailx: ERROR: Cannot set mandatory file lock on temp lockfile.
  19.  
  20. The permissions on all directories leading to and including the :saved 
  21. directory are all 777. I can create files in there all day long, but
  22. it errors on the mailer. Any help would be nice, I am stumped!
