- Hi netters!
-
- During the next few month, I will have to write software using SPARC
- assembly language. I am looking for something along the lines of
- "Tips and tricks..." that cover the not so obvious aspects of using
- assembly language on SPARC. I do own the SPARC architecture manual,
- version 8, and a copy of the "SPARC technical papers". Although, the
- manuals for the assembler are available to me. I also have plenty of
- experience programming in assembler on CISC architectures such as Z80,
- 80x86/80x87 and 680x0. So I am really looking for something that doesn't
- explain the basics (e.g. 'What is a macro?') but that deals with more
- arcane features of the SPARC architecture. Being used to a flat register
- file, I am also worried a bit about this register windowing stuff. FYI,
- the software will be used on SUN-Workstations under the Solaris OS. Any
- pointers are appreciated. Please reply by email, as I don't have the
- chance to follow this newsgroup on a regular basis. I will post a summary
- of all replies received. Thanks for your help in advance.
