  13. I am in the market for a good AVI card/software package for the PC for a 
  14. specific purpose.
  15.  
  16. I want to use it (mainly) to subtitle videotapes/LDs that are in Japanese
  17. in English.  I have other uses, mainly software-based ones (i.e., editing
  18. imported video images, etc.) but the main use if for subtitling.
  19.  
  20. I saw an ad in PC Magazine (latest issue) for a new package from Creative
  21. Labs and MS called Video Blaster.  I know the Video Blaster is an AVI card
  22. from Creative Labs, but now they are including some software:  MS Video for
  23. Windows, Tempra, and Action!

  25. I was wondering:  is this a suitable package for what I want to do?  I have in
  26. mind using a complete script of dislogue (text) and timing it out to real-time
  27. video.  Hopefully, you'd be able to time the script to run automatically,
  28. but that's nice, not necessary.

  30. Also, is the Video Blaster card a good AVI card?  How good is the resolution?  
  31. Is it worth it?
