  40. Explanation:
  41. Hewlett-Packard has released a printer called the HP DeskJet 500C.
  42. The printer has two modes:  a monochrome mode and a color graphics
  43. mode.  In the monochrome mode, the printer is identical to an
  44. HP DeskJet 500.  When the color ink cartridge is installed, the
  45. printer is a graphics-only printer.  Since WordPerfect does not
  46. rasterize the whole page and send it out as a graphic, it is unable
  47. to support the printer in color.  It was decided between
  48. HP and WPCorp that WP would not ship an HP DeskJet 500C driver in
  49. 5.1 because users may assume color support is available.  Users who
  50. need a driver should use the HP DeskJet 500 driver that currently
  51. ships with WP.

  53. Current shipping products that use the same printer drivers as
  54. WordPerfect 5.1 (DrawPerfect 1.1, PlanPerfect 5.1, and
  55. LetterPerfect 1.0) do not have the ability to support the printer
  56. in the color mode.  See GSS information above.

  58. Users are welcome to submit enhancement requests via the
  59. WordPerfect BBS by sending a message to Dale Bodily, or by leaving
  60. a message on CompuServe to WPC Enhancements [73447,754].  Please
  61. include the product name in your request, as well as the enhancement
  62. you would like to be added to a future release of the product
  63. (e.g.  I would like to have a future version of WordPerfect support
  64. color printing for the HP DeskJet 500C printer).
