- I have Stacker 3.0, but I'm afraid to install it because the Preview
- program that comes with Stacker doesn't work right. I have a 386 25MhZ
- with two 213 MB Connor
- hard disks and MS DOS 5.0. The first hard drive is partitioned into
- 2 parts, C drive is 32MB, and the E drive is 181 MB. The second
- hard drive is my D drive and is a single partition (213 MB). I've had
- this configuration for about 3 years now, and have had no problems
- with the hard disks. The hard disks are about 90% full.
-
- The problem with Preview is this. It runs fine with the C drive, though
- it report a rather low 1-1.5 compression. When I run it on my D drive,
- it runs for while, then simply exits. No messages, no errors, nothing.
- I've run it several times, and every time it gets maybe 50% or 73% or
- 80% through the disk, and does its mysterious exit. Anyone ever
- experience this? Then when I run Preview on my E drive, it goes through
- the entire drive, but it does not *stop* and keeps on going forever. It
- goes way past the 181 MB limit, and I've let it run for 2 hours before
- stopping it when it says my E drive is 500MB. Now, if the Preview
- program is having these problems, I'm sure as heck not going to
- install Stacker on my hard disks because I feel it will corrupt them.
- Can anyone offer any help or suggestions?
