- When I try to write 8 bit values to the VGA card for palette setup it seems
- that only the first 6 bits are set (when you read back what you wrote the
- highest value I can find is 63).

- Is there some special procedure I must follow? Is my video card too old? Are
- there any books or code examples which do this from the port level? I am not
- using DOS so I can't use the BIOS.
