- I just ordered a Gateway 2000 486-66V, so I figure I have a while to shop
- around for a monitor :) I would have ordered their Mitsubishi 20" Diamond
- Scan monitor model #6945, but when I called Mitsubishi they said that they
- have upgraded that model to the HL6955SETK (which include anti-glare and
- anti-static coating) and that they don't sell the 6945 anymore. Gateway,
- which would charge about $2210 for it said they couldnt get the newer model.
- So I am looking elsewhere.
-
- If you have any opinions, pro or con, about the following monitors, please
- let me know. If you can fill in some missing info on each monitor, I would
- appreciate it. Also, if you know of a magazine that has reviewed 20 inch
- monitors, please let me know.
-
- All of these monitors *should* be non-interlaced, multiscanning or multisync
- monitors with a minimum maximum resolution of 1280x1024. Correct, if wrong.

- I had the Radius 20/S on the list, but a salesperson said that it was exactly
- the same as a Sony GDM-1936, but $500 more. Also had ViewSonic on the
- list, but their maximum refresh rate at 1280x1024 was 60Hz.
-
- Is Trinitron really better for simple Windows applications and fonts? Does
- that square pixel really help non-CAD programs?
-
- How important is maximum horizontal and vertical frequencies, as well as
- bandwidth? The Diamond Pro says it can do 78kHz horiz, 130Hz vertical
- and 130mHz bandwidth. How does this info relate to its max refresh rate at
- the max resolution?
-
- Can you hook up BNC cables to the ATI Ultra Pro video card on a Gateway?
-
- Any recommendations for mail order firms for monitor? Any to avoid?
-
- Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
