- All three, really.
-
- The off-center thing is quite normal and there isn't much you can do about
- it other than adjust your monitor every time you switch modes or get a
- really expensive monitor that has processors to do it automatically (the
- Mitsubishi Diamond Scan does this I think, but it runs about 2 grand <choke>).
-
- The garbage screen problem is caused by the driver, you should be able to
- find the lastest driver for your card on a variety of ftp sites or
- compuserve. Check with an archie server, but I think they have some on
- oak.oakland.edu or ftp.cica.indiana.edu. I had the same problem with my old
- Oak and also with my Trident-based card in 800x600 mode and the new drivers
- cleared it up...
-
- If you want to do high-res, I'd recommend getting another video card; Oaks
- are pretty low-end (slow). Anything based on the Tseng ET4000 will perform
- quite nicely at 1024x768x256. Or if you're a serious Windows-geek like me,
- you might want to look into an S3-based accelerator like the STB Wind/X HC
- -- they're coming down in price as new chipsets are coming out to replace
- them.
