- Colleagues,
-
- I'd like some help interpreting kernel messages like:
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------
- s0_timeout: sc = 0x41, tgt_id = 0x5
- SCSI: sense key, lun 0, target 5, bus 1: Unit Attention
- SCSI: sense code, lun 0, target 5, bus 1: Power On or Reset or Bus Device Reset
- SCSI: Status bytes, lun 0, target 5, bus 1:
- 70 0 6 0 0 0 0 a 0 0 0 0 29 0 0 0 0 0
- SCSI: lun 0, target 5, bus 1, ASC 29, ASCQ 0, sense key 6, ASL a,
- sense key specific bytes: 0 0 0
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------
- which I get regularly on my striped stack of Fast SCSI-2 WREN 8s with
- differential interfaces. I'm driving them with an HP 25552a EISA SCSI-2
- card and using an HP differential terminator. Total cable length is
- just under 2m.
-
- Without looking at the kernel error messages, the real problem is that
- access to the filesystems on the striped discs seems to be suspended
- for about 60 seconds, after which normal service is resumed.
-
- So if anyone can help me interpret them there status bytes, or give me
- any other sorts of clues to what's happening, I'd be so very thankful.
