  14. Greetings HPeople,

  16.     I have a question for the hardware gods of ancient HPs.
  17.  
  18.     I admin a small (12 HP machines) cluster of clients, and
  19. 1 HP 9000/350 Server, running on HP-UX 7.0 (stop laughing).

  21.     I have experienced 2 complete crashes - one on 6 Dec,
  22. and one today.  I am at a loss to figure out the cause - all
  23. I see on the consoles are the panic messages.  I have reason
  24. to think it would be the memory that has gone awry.
  25.  
  26.     We've had top notch performance out of HP's, they've been
  27. great in terms of reliability - these are old machines and have
  28. served well - but we are an academic site, and by default, WE ARE
  29. POOR.  I'm open to any suggestions, and would greatly appreciate
  30. any comments from past experience.

  32.     I'd love to see some new HP's, but the fact is that I won't
  33. see them (at least) until our new budget kicks in....if it is that
  34. soon.
