- Greetings HPeople,
-
- I have a question for the hardware gods of ancient HPs.
-
- I admin a small (12 HP machines) cluster of clients, and
- 1 HP 9000/350 Server, running on HP-UX 7.0 (stop laughing).
-
- I have experienced 2 complete crashes - one on 6 Dec,
- and one today. I am at a loss to figure out the cause - all
- I see on the consoles are the panic messages. I have reason
- to think it would be the memory that has gone awry.
-
- We've had top notch performance out of HP's, they've been
- great in terms of reliability - these are old machines and have
- served well - but we are an academic site, and by default, WE ARE
- POOR. I'm open to any suggestions, and would greatly appreciate
- any comments from past experience.
-
- I'd love to see some new HP's, but the fact is that I won't
- see them (at least) until our new budget kicks in....if it is that
- soon.
-
- Any help is greatly appreciated.
-
- Regards,
-
- Michael
