  12.     Could anyone confirm problems using the on-board 
  13. comm port on a VAXStation 2000 under Ultrix 4.2A ???

  15.     I suspect an interrupt latency or priority problem
  16. w/ this device in the Ultrix 4.2 implementation. Awhile
  17. back I was testing a SLIP server by attaching a Mac to
  18. the back-end of the VAX and logging into it to start
  19. sessions. After a few minutes of exerting SLIP traffic
  20. over the hardwired connection - the kernel would panic
  21. and crash dump. The only error log messages I could find was
  22. a SILO overflow warning.

  24.     SInce that point - the machine has been in service
  25. providing dial-up SLIP service over LAT connections to our
  26. Xyplex. There have been no panics , crash-dumps or 
  27. slowdowns even when I saturate multiple connections with
  28. traffic.

  30.     Just want to confirm the suspicion if anyone 
  31. else has observed the same problem.
