- Ok, now that I bought my hard drive, I wound up having to buy a bunch
- of other stuff the local defunct Commodore club had. I now have some
- spare parts that will appear in a later post, to get rid of.
- (two c64s, a 1541, and a 1571, maybe a monitor w. rgb and comp. video)
-
- My questions. Even though I have the original receipts for the stuff
- I bought, I wound up with the manuals only for the 1571 drive and the
- lt.kernal drive. I have a manual for my flat 128.
- 1.) I have a c128d. Is there a hardware method to change device no.
- on the internal 1571 drive? There are no dip switches to set, and I
- didn't see anything obvious inside the box to cut. I'd like to
- hardwire it to 9. I can do it via s/w, but it's a pain, and I don't
- always want to boot up the h.d.
- 2.) The c128d also has Jiffydos 6.01. I see it refines the function
- keys, but does it do anything else? (no manual)
- 3.) I have a program I'm writing, and now want to make it more flexible
- and automatic than it currently is. I wrote it on a c64 w. 1581/1541
- drives, and now want to use a c128 and 1571 also.
- a.) Is there a disk command I can send out that will poll the disk drive
- desired to tell me what type it is?
- b.) Is there a peek I can make to tell me if I'm running w. a c64 or c128?
- c.) Currently I can position my cursor by poking row and column info
- into locations 780,781,782 (decimal), and then sys 65520 on my c64.
- Is there an equivalent set of pokes and a sys for the c128, and if so,
- what is it?
- Any info would be appreciated. I also have a Sears monitor w. rgb and comp
- video input, but the darn thing seems to have 'bright', maybe over-
- saturated, colors w. the c128 and rgb mode. Any clues?
-
- My site is still getting newsfeeds about a week late, so email directly to
- me is desired, and if the answers are general enough, maybe also post them
- to the group. Thanks a lot.
