  10. I recently asked on the Aztec BBS when work would resume on the Amiga compiler.
  11.  I got this reply from the guy who I believe is the #1 developer:

  20.  I've been told that the Aztec/Amiga product has been frozen at the 
  21. current level; i.e. Manx is not planning on coming out with another 
  22. update of the Amiga compiler.

  26. I am currently awaiting a further reply as to whether this means no bugfixes,
  27. or simply no major upgrades.

  29. In either case, the message is clear.  Aztec C for Amiga is now basically an
  30. unsupported product.

  38. To put that another way,

  40. Do NOT BUY Aztec C!!!

  42. The "current level" that it is frozen at has at least one serious defect, and
  43. is not entirely usable with 68040s either.  Even if they come out with one last
  44. bugfix, the source level debugger will never get the major update it needs, and
  45. so forth.  Nor will we ever get the stuff they were talking about for version
  46. 6, like a GUI front end, __chip and __far features, register tracking
  47. optimization, etc.

  50. version of DICE ...
