- After my recent conversion from OS1.3 to OS2.1, I've been having
- periodic harddrive problems. First when recovering some files from
- tape using AmiBack2.0, the system locked up. When I rebooted, there
- was a checksum error on a block on the HD. Therefore the Amiga would
- not validate the disk. I used DiskX to correct the checksum, but then
- I ended up with an invalid block that I couldn't get rid of since
- OS2.1 won't let you delete anything from a disk that shows 0K free,
- or that isn't validated. (My Amiga shows 0K free when these errors
- occur, even though there was over 70Meg free!).
- I reformatted and recovered my data from tape after this first time
- this happened. The second time it happened, I was copying my bridgeboard
- directory to DH1: using DirectoryOpus, when the system hung up. Again,
- my only means of recovering was formating.
- Last night, while using A64 to read a file from a C64 drive to my Amiga
- it hung up leaving me high and dry (and my disk unValidated). Does anyone have an idea where I can a utility to recover from this Unvalidated status?
- Any suggestions for avoiding/fixing this problem would be appreciated.
- Oh, my configuration is a A2000, GVP 22MHz 030 combo, with a 200Meg drive
- partitioned into two 100Meg partitions, a SCSI tape drive, 8088 Bridgeboard.

- Thanks in advance,
