- I have an old white Digi-View (# 66950) that works well with my A1000,
- but is rather slow. I have been scanning on the A1000 and transferring
- the 21-bit files to my A3000 for processing. Because of gender and
- pinout differences, I made an adapter to use the Digi-View with my
- A3000, but it doesn't work. A requester says "No Video Signal Present".
- The Digi-View 4.0 software is an upgrade from Newtek, and runs fine on
- the A3000 under 2.04 or 1.3.
-
- All of the data, ground, and other lines are connected properly. The NC
- pins are left unconnected. The length of the leads in the adapter is
- approximately 1/4 inch. The metal shields of the two DB-25M connectors
- are hooked together. The +5V is supplied from an external, well
- filtered supply (grounded to the A3000 chassis). +5.00VDC appears on
- the power input pin of the Digi-View unit.
-
- The parallel port on the A3000 seems to function properly. I removed
- my external SCSI cable from the A3000 to reduce the chance of RFI with
- the Digi-View. The A3000 has been booted with the SS disabled, so there
- would be no chance of conflict with enforcer, commodities, etc.
-
- Other people have made similar adapters, and have older Digi-View
- units working on their A3000 computers... Why doesn't mine work?
- I can't see spending another $80-$130 for a new Digi-View when my
- current unit ought to function properly.
-
- Any ideas will be most welcome.
