  14. Hello All;
  15. I have an Amiga 1000 system and just recently, I noticed that 
  16. I get a read error message when I try to load just about any 
  17. of my programs. I am using the original Amiga 3-1/2" drive which
  18. came with the system. Is it possible that this may be wearing 
  19. out and not working as well as it used to ? I am able to load 
  20. the Kickstart program as well as the Workbench program so I know
  21. the drive is working to some extent. Anyone have any ideas as to
  22. why the system is suddenly unable to read most of my applications
  23. programs ?

  25. Also ... Is it possible to replace the existing 3-1/2" drive with
  26. a brand new one off-the-shelf of most computer stores or do I 
  27. have to buy it from Amiga ? In other words ... is there anything
  28. special about the drive which makes it unique ? If I can 
  29. replace it with any other one, can someone tell me how I'd need to
  30. set the jumpers (on the drive unit)?
